DESCRIPTION:From Conejo Open Space Foundation:\nWildlife educator Dana Stangel will inaugurate COSF’s 2025 Speaker Series\, delving into the natural history of urban coyotes and discussing the ongoing challenges involving coyotes\, pets and backyards. Among other topics\, Stangel will demonstrate humane hazing techniques and showcase various backyard wildlife deterrents during her show-and-tell. \nAfter the presentation\, there will be a moderated Q & A session for attendees. This is your chance to get your coyote questions answered\, including why they seem to watch you and whether your fences will keep them out. Ever wondered why they yip together? Learn the truth from Stangel. \nDana Stangel\, who is the executive director of Teranga Ranch Wildlife\, is a credentialed biology teacher and an urban wildlife specialist. She has been working with both domestic animals and local wildlife for more than 20 years. \nHeld quarterly since 2019\, the COSF virtual Speaker Series has included climate authority Dr. Sean Anderson as well as wildlife experts Dr. Dan Cooper\, Dr. Seth Riley\, Dr. Jessica Sanchez\, Dr. Julie Morley and the National Wildlife Federation’s regional executive director Beth Pratt. \nTo sign up for this event\, go to the registration page on our website.
